چکیده
Among nosocomial infections catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) is one of the most common infection. The antibiotic resistance amongst uropathogens isolated from CAUTI are multi-drug resistant and a growing public health problem in world including Bangladesh. study objective was to determine aetiology find out their anti-microbial sensitivity pattern among isolates. A cross sectional done July 2016 June 2017 Dhaka Medical College, Urine samples were collected 400 patients with suspected which processed microbiologically antimicrobial performed. Out Escherichia coli (38.93%) organism followed by Pseudomonas spp, (15.98%), Klebsiella (8.61%), Proteus spp. (7.38%) Enterobacter (6.56%) Acinitobacter (1.22%). Gram positive isolates Staphylococcus aureus (1.64%) Coagulase negative Staphylococeus (6.97%%) isolated. Enterobacteriaceae showed high commonly used antimicrobials Amoxiclav, Gentamycin, Ceftriaxone, azithromycin , ciprofloxacin, cortimoxazole sensitive colistin ,nitrofurantoin ,imepenem, Meropenem. Many multi- drug hence strict aseptic precaution has be taken prior insertion after prevent

BACKGROUND Nosocomial urinary tract infections (NUTIs) are by definition not present at admission of a patient and are acquired during hospitalisation. The objective of this study was to study the uropathogens and their antibiotic sensitivity patterns in hospital acquired urinary tract infections presenting in a teaching hospital. METHODOLOGY It was a retrospective descriptive study carried o...
متن کاملHospital and Community Isolates of Uropathogens and their Antibiotic Sensitivity Pattern from a Tertiary Care Hospital in North West India
BACKGROUND Urinary tract infection remains one of the most common infections, both in the community and in the hospital. The causative pathogen profile varies from region to region, but Escherichia coli (E. coli) remains the most common causative pathogen. The sensitivity of uropathogens to different drugs varies in different areas, and changes with time. This necessitates periodic studies of t...

Background & Objective: Escherichia coli (E. coli) is considered to be the most common cause of urinary tract infections (UTIs) worldwide. Due to the recent rise in bacterial resistance to antibiotics and the appearance of multidrug-resistant E. coli, treatment options have been significantly limited, thus increasing the cost of treatment as well as morbidity and mortality rates, especially in ...

Urinary tract infection (UTI) continues to be the commonest nosocomial infection according for approximately 40% of all hospital acquired infections and it is one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality [1, 2]. UTIs caused by Citrobacter species have been described in 5 to 12% of bacterial urine isolates in adults [3]. The genus Citrobacter is a distinct group of aerobic Gram-ne...
